Ludhiana: A day after the terrorist attack in Uri of Jammu and Kashmir, in which 17 soldiers attained martyrdom, the various political parties and organisations protested against Pakistan for attack on India and also burnt their national flag.
The local Congress leaders led by District Congress Committee (Urban) president Gurpreet Bassi Gogi, MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu, MLA Surinder Dawar, Kulwant Sidhu protested against the Pakistan and burnt national flag at Jagraon Bridge.
The Congress leaders also hit out at Prime Minister, Narendra Modi questioning his role for dealing with terrorism.
Gogi said that before forming the government Modi had made tall promises of strictly dealing with terrorism and now Modi is attending the parties at Pakistan. He suggested Modi to leave foreign tours and chalk out strategy to end terrorism.
The Congress leaders also remembered and paid tributes to 17 solider who attained martyrdom in Uri.
Municipal councilor Varinder Sehgal, Parminder Mehta, Sanjay Sharma, Monu Khinda and several others were present.
