Ludhiana: Congress MP from Ludhiana, Ravneet Singh Bittu along with Malkiat Singh Dakha, ex-Minister laid the foundation stones of two roads falling under Gill assembly segment on Thursday.
The road from Buthari to Gopalpur via Khatra, Rurka and Nangal villages would be constructed at cost of Rs.8 crore 93 lakh, whereas the road from Dehlon to Pakhowal via Majri and Nangal villages would be constructed at cost of Rs.8 crore 64 lakh. These roads are to be constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
Speaking on the occasion, Bittu said to ensure seamless travel and transportation of goods they are committed to provide the best roads infrastructure to people. “We are working on the widening of the existing roads and in order to prevent loss of precious lives in road accidents, our first priority is to remove bottlenecks on the roads”, he said.
He added, in the coming days the foundation stones of the roads similarly sanctioned under PMGSY in the Ludhiana parliamentary constituency would be laid and the work would be started.
