Ludhiana: A head constable was booked by police division number 4 for snatching Rs 2 lakh from trader based in Mandi Ahmedgarh on sake of checking in wake of demonetization on Saturday.
The Commissioner of Police Jatinder Singh Aulakh has also suspended the services of the cop with immediate effect.The accused has been identified as Head Constable Roshan Kumar. The accused is at large.Bal Krishan of Mandi Ahmadgarh has come to Ludhiana to meet charted accountant.
When he reached near Jagatpuri area a head constable who was accompanying by a local leader stopped him on the pretext of checking.
He stated that the accused started accusing him that he is carrying unaccounted money and he will register a case against him. The accused extorted cash from him and fled.
The complainant also added that he went to one of his relative and shared whole incident with him, who informed Commissioner of Police.
The Commissioner of Police marked an inquiry to Assistant Commissioner of police (ACP) Amandeep Singh Brar, who investigated the matter and lodged a case against the accused.
