Ludhiana: Due to the visit of the Deputy Chief Minister in the city, the chief vigilance officer (CVO), Government of Punjab, AK Kansal carried out a check at the different offices and roads with his six member team on Friday.
The checking by CVO was on till the filing of this report in the evening. The team carried out checking in 12 buildings in Zone -A area and around 15 buildings at Zone-C area. Checking was also done at one of renowned hotels of the city, as per the complaint lodged against hotel registered in MCL. After the checking of complaints against buildings that have violated the rules and regulations they carried out checking of the roads of the city against which the complaints were registered with the municipal corporations.
CVO and his team members also carried out checking of the roads that fall between Dholewal Chowk to Partap Chowk as they received the complaint of using the substandard material to carpet the roads by the contractor on the roads.
Kansal talking to ‘Daily Post’ informed that they have asked each and every building checked by them to submit their papers in next two days regarding violation of buildings or rectify the violations. “After the scanning of the papers on Monday, suitable actions would be taken against the violators”, added Kansal.
He further said, “We have also taken the samples of roads to get its material checked in the laboratory and we will also ask the contractors to give their explanations over it. Really, the roads are in poor shape. Rest of the reports would clear the quality of the material used to carpet the roads”.
About the outcome of the checking drive whole day, he said, “The outcome of the report would be clear on Monday or Tuesday after carrying out all the checks and studying all reports.”
