Jalandhar: TECHNOVENZA-2017, a national level tech fest, was organised by the Department of Computer Application here at DAVIET campus. The tech fest was aimed at bringing together the experts from the academia and industry on a common platform so as to provide the students the much needed exposure about the latest developments in the nascent and ever developing field of Computer Application.
Dr Manoj Kumar, Principal, DAVIET, urged the students to excel in any one of the programming languages and said that such tech fests provide students a chance to interact with their peers from other institutions and gain immensely from the mutual exchange. He also highlighted that through Hands on workshops conducted by the experts from academia and industry, the students get a chance to be equipped with the latest technical skill set which is the quintessential requirement to be successful in the corporate world today.
Dr Lalit Awasthi from Dr B R Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT) in his address highlighted that mere focus on theoretical knowledge can’t make a successful professional. He appreciated the hard work put in by DAVIET to organise such an event. During the course of two days, students would get a chance to participate in workshops on App Development and Robotics to be conducted by Gurmeet Sharma, Director EESPL, Mohali.
In addition to these, they would also get a chance to test their knowledge in a technical quiz ‘Pop The Question’ and Technical events like ‘Nail It,’ “Debut De Idea,” “Solve the Cube,” “Code Tag,” “ Website Weaving,” “Query Master” and “Fast and Dangerous.” The inaugural function was attended by Dr Sonia Chawla, Dean, Academics, Dr Sudhir Sharma, Dean, Research and Innovation, Dr Neeru Malhotra, Head, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Harpreet Bajaj, Department of Computer Science.DP
