Ludhiana: District Administration had made smooth arrangements on the day of results here on Saturday at different allocated places in city and the much awaited day, March 11 ended on a happy note without any trouble.
District Election officer cum Deputy Commissioner Ravi Bhagat visited all the counting centers and assured smooth counting process on Saturday. 11 counting centers which were established at 14 different places and all the arrangements including security were checked. A meeting with Returning Officers of all the 14 constituencies of Ludhiana district was also organised.
The counting process started at 8:00 am on Saturday and staff took their positions at 7:00 am, as per the instructions by Ravi Bhagat. Around one thousand staff members were involved in counting process.
3700 police officials were appointed on duty to keep the decorum maintained throughout the day of results. Entire counting process was properly recorded in video cameras. Apart from Returning Officers, no one was allowed to use mobile phones during counting process at centers.
District Election officer cum Deputy Commissioner Ravi Bhagat thanked everyone at the end of the day for peaceful conduct of vote counting.
