Patiala: The Dengue spread at an alarming pace at Samana and in Babu Singh Colony of Patiala. The situation at both these areas said to be critical as the Patients are coming in a big way. In Samana so far six deaths have been reported due to Dengue and the patients are coming at regular intervals.
In the civil Hospital, Samana the patients are admitted in dengue wards and provided with medical treatment, as the number of patients increased so now the hospital authorities adopted new strategy and start sending the patients to their homes after giving them treatment. But this has back fired as now the patients have started preferring the private hospital’s to get the timely treatment because of which the number in these hospitals have gone up.
When talked to the Senior Medical Officer (SMO) of the Civil Hospital, Samana Dr Rajpal Singh about the spread of the dengue in Samana, he said that the situation is well under control and it has not worsened further. He said that now the hospital is having five full blown case’s of dengue and their treatment is on, whereas daily 20 to 25 patients are coming with the symptoms of the dengue.
Similarly in the Babu Singh Colony area in Patiala also badly affected by the spread of Dengue where in every house people are down with high fever and symptoms of dengue. Though the administration has depurated medical teams to provide medical treatment and the team has so far taken blood samples of 85 persons in the area.
Even the Medical Officer of Primary Health Centre (PHC) Kauli, DrJaswinder Kaur accepted that there is a rush of flies and mosquitoes in the area and worst insanitation condition are behind the spread of dengue in the area. She said that the health department team is trying to educate the people living in the area to clean up the area.
