Fatehgarh Sahib, Patiala: Two persons were killed and three were injured in two mishaps due to dense fog near village Harbanspura of district Fatehgarh Sahib on Sunday morning.
According to information received, a severe accident occured as aresult of dense fog which was reportedon Sunday morning where in six vehicles collided with each other leading to death of one person and injuring other 3.
The mishap occurred near village Harbanspura adjoining Sirhind when a speeding truck suddenly applied brakes. A tempo rammed into the truck. Following which two privates buses, two cars collided each other. Manish Viyas(22) was killed in mishap, Joginder Viyas, Janeshwar Sharma, Avtar Singh were injured in mishap and they were admitted in Civil Hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib.
As per another report, a pedestrian Gurmeet Singh(45) who was working in a Mandi Gobindgarh based unit was hit by an unidentified vehicle near village Harbanspura when he was crossing the road around 6 am. According to village Sarpanch Inderjit Singh, Gurmeet Singh was killed on spot.
Police officials said they were investigating the matter.
Meanwhile, in road accidents also took place in Patiala district as a result of which three persons have died and nine others got injuries. All the injured persons were admitted in the government Rajindra Hospital. The dense fog and smog have caused many road accidents at different places in Patiala district here on Sunday.
Among all the the reports available about such road accidents that happened on Patiala-Sangrur road, one of them took place as when Raju Dhabha, driver of an unknown canter was trying to back his vehicle and meanwhile one speeding motorcycle banged into the canter killing two persons riding the motorcycle and injuring two others. The deceased have been identifed as Narinder Sharma and Sukhdev Ram.
