Ludhiana: After almost five months of the attack on Shiv Sena leader Amit Arora, the Ludhiana Police has revealed that the Sena leader has staged the attack on himself to get security cover and an police escort vehicle. The gunman and servant of the Sena leader was also involved in staging the attack, the police claimed. Police officials revealed that Arora, who was state president of the youth wing of the Shiv Sena had given Rs 1 lakh to his servant for faking injury marks and also lured the gunman with promotion.
Commissioner of Police Jatinder Singh Aulakh said that the case was cracked only after the scientific and technical investigation was completed. The accused was detained for questioning and he confessed to having staged the attack to get security cover and escort vehicle, following which his gunman constable Om Parkash and cook Mani were arrested.
Aulakh said that Arora was provided with one gunman and after the attack he was given four security guards. He had also submitted a request for escort vehicle from the DGP office. He further said that Arora had claimed that he had sustained bullet injuries but the report of doctors and police investigation revealed that the injury marks were faked with an iron rod. The rod was also recovered by the police and sent to a laboratory.
