Jalandhar: MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family of Brigadier Jagdish Gagneja (retd) and expressed deep concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab, particularly Jalandhar, which has virtually turned into a hub of criminals.
Chaudhary also expressed condolences to the Handa family who faced a nightmare at the hands of the city criminals killing his wife and their domestic help.
In a press statement, the MP said that the incidents of looting and killing at will has become a matter of routine and the police was a failure in arresting the culprits.
Lambasting the poor governance of the state on all fronts and for miserably failing to arrest the killers of Mata Chand Kaur of Namdhari Mission he said that it is very unfortunate that Jagdish Gagneja RSS Chief Jalandhar succumbed to his injuries and breathed his last today. “This also shows the inefficient handling of the murderous assault done in board day light and the culprits were still at large”, he said.
There were many such examples of looting and killings which took place daily in Jalandhar and most of the cases remain unresolved. Labeling him as a total failure, Chaudhary sought the immediate resignation of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, who holds the department of Home affairs.
