Ludhiana: Taking the residents and cops by surprise, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal detours to Ghumar Mandi Ludhiana for having lunch in restaurant on Thursday afternoon. Taking the opportunity the staff of restaurant and visitors at Ghumar Mandi market takes pictures with Deputy CM of the state. The leader spends around half an hour in the market and then left for Chandigarh in chopper.
With the surprise visit of Deputy CM, the cops were on toes and beefed up security in the area after getting information. Interestingly, the senior police officials were not aware of the visit of VVIP. According to information, Deputy CM has come to Kotli village to condole the death of Harkirat Singh, grandson of former Chief minister Beant Singh. Sukhbir Badal reached PAU helipad to move for Chandigarh but he was informed that due to exercise by Air Force the chopper cannot fly. In the meantime, Deputy CM along Maheshinder Singh Grewal, advisor to CM Punjab, CPS Virsa Singh Valtoha, Madan Lal Bagga and others visit Ghumar Mandi market without any security cover. Only one pilot vehicle was escorting the car of Deputy CM. Maheshinder Singh Grewal said that Deputy CM visited a restaurant and had Chinese food. He also got the photos clicked with hotel staff and visitors in the market.
