Ludhiana: On the occasion of World Heart Day, Pancham Hospital is adding its own contribution to the cause of prevention of fatalities due to heart diseases.
Speaking on the occasion of launch of World Heart Day camp, the Chief Cardiologist and Managing Director of the hospital, Dr RP Singh said, “We aim to educate the masses about impending heart related diseases through our ‘Community Outreach Programme’.”
The Director Operations at Pancham Hospital, Harmanpreet Singh said, “We are lowering the cost of complete heart checkup which includes tests that can help us detect and delay the onset of heart diseases. This can be our modest contribution to protect our patient community from imminent threat of heart diseases and related complications.”
“Grossly wrong diet pattern which includes rich oily and spicy foods are a major contributor to this disease that has reached epidemic proportions. Add to this the stresses of very competitive business world and you have a recipe for a disaster.” added Dr. R.P. Singh.
He also said that Cardiac emergencies, midnight attacks, high BP, even in the younger generation have become commonplace. “Genetically also we Punjabi are more prone and susceptible to cardiac related diseases. High cholesterol profiles and huge percentage of diabetics are adding alarming number to heart emergencies”, he added.
