On the call of Punjab State Ministerial Services associations, employees from 54 departments from all over Punjab state holds a protest march on Chandigarh -Mohali border on Wednesday.
While they tried to cross barricades for entering UT, Police used water cannon to stop them. During this seven employees along with two female employees injured.
Some of the employees blamed that their turban’s felt down due to water and ‘lathicharge’
In the meantime police also used batons to dissemble the crowed from the place.
Before this these employees hold a rally in Mohali at dussehra ground phase-8. In which employees from all over Punjab gathered and raised slogans against government.
While addressing rally, speaker’s Nachatar Singh president, general secretary Kulwant Singh chairman Om Parkash and others said that they have been demanding that the issue of anomalies in their pay scales be addressed, but their pleas were falling on deaf ears.
The government employees have been demanding that the old pension scheme that was applicable to employees recruited prior to 2004 should be applicable to those recruited later.
They further demanded that the government employees have been suffering because of the poor implementation of cashless health insurance scheme, as many of the enlisted hospitals were still not providing services, apart from this, major hospitals were still not added to the list of empanelled hospitals by the government.
