Mohali: Engineer’s Day was celebrated at Doaba Polytechnic College, Kharar, with great enthusiasm by the faculty members and the engineering students. Various competitive events among the students of all diploma courses were organized to encourage young engineers to reform the core sector of their particular field.
Some of the projects developed by the students were displayed in the campus. These include Civil Engineering Projects on construction based live projects like Flemish bond brick wall , English bond brick wall, Simply supported slab, Semi circular arch, Twisting column ,Architectural slab bench ,Sample of stair case ,Seating bench with back support Stone masonry table, Star Brick column table , semi circular slab bench, etc.
In Electronics Engineering Projects on various electronics projects like LED display, sensor based Hand drier etc. Electrical Engineering: Projects on installation of 3 phase wiring, PLC automation which include installation of security system on entry door of a lab and installation of solar panel which convert solar energy into electrical etc.
In Mechanical Engineering Projects on making a model of various parts of motor vehicle such as engine, gear system, radiator, carburetor, chassis, ignition system, steering system, hydraulic brake system etc. and making a model of two stroke petrol engine and diesel engine, water cooler with RO purification system , robot , vapour compression refrigeration system, disc brake system, master cylinder etc. Computer Science & Engineering: Projects on setting up of Networking in a computer Lab.
The guests of honor for the event were Managing Vice Chairman, Mr. S.S Sangha; Executive Vice Chairman, MR Manjit Singh; Director General, Dr. Daljit Singh, and various directors, principals and HoD’s of DGC constituent colleges.
