Patiala: A Former Superintendent Engineer (SE) of the erst while Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB), currently Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), on Monday jotted down a letter to Punjab Governor and sought his personal intervention into the matter concerning unwanted delay in the appointment of one member of the Punjab State Electricity Regulatory Commission (PSERC) as the state government has failed in appointing the member on one or the other count since over 23 months. Gurnek Singh Brar, the Ex SE, while continuing with his fight against the state government’s indifferent attitude to fill a vacant post of member in the PSERC, which is lying vacant since over 23 months now put the ball in the court of Punjab Governor through the letter and urged him to personally intervene into this matter as it need his attention as the state government seems indifferent to this.
Whereas earlier on he also wrote a letter to the Union Power Minister and seek his support over the issue. Brar also brought the whole of the matter in the notice of the Advocate General (AG) of Punjab through a letter and also sought help from him in this matter. He added that earlier he also wrote so many letters in this connection to the Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal and the Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal and seek their intervention the matter but in vain.Brar alleged that it’s the Deputy Chief Minister, Sukhbir Singh Badal who playing a spoil sport in this matter as twice the selection process to fill the post was initiated but it failed to conclude.
It may be mentioned here that the post was lying vacant since December 5, 2014 even though the selection process to fill the post was initiated much earlier in November, 2014 but till it failed to conclude and Er Brar was running Pilar to Post to see it through.
Er Gurnek Singh Brar on this issue further contended that it openly violates the section 85 of the Electricity Act of 2003.
