Ludhiana: Executive Body of Help Organisation, an NGO, met Sohan Singh Thandal, Jail Minister, Punjab here on Sunday and discussed on the matter of prisoners who have already completed their sentence or the prisoners whose remaining sentence has been suspended by the government, but are still behind the bars.
Thadal assured its support to the mission of Help Organisation and help the needy who have already completed their sentences but are still behind the bars from long because they have no one, who could pay fine on their behalf or who could give sureties on their behalf. These prisoners are also the burden on jail authorities and government as well, said Thandal.
Vinod Chawla, Vice President and Tejinder Pal Singh Wasson, Finance Secretary said that Help Organisation is continuously working and putting selfless efforts to fight for the innocent prisoners specially for those who have no near or dear ones.
Notably, there are several prisoners in the different jails of Punjab who have no family member to back or guarantee for them. Inderjit Singh Deol, Advocate Ravi Chaudhary and Sumeet Singh Vohra were also present during the meeting.
