Fatehgarh Sahib: Fatehgarh Sahib MLA Kuljit Singh Nagra on Saturday blocked traffic on Fatehgarh Sahib-Mohali Road at village Peerjain and raised slogans against Union government. The MLA was protesting in front of Malwa Gramin Bank village Peerjain branch against scrapping of currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000. Speaking on this occasion, the MLA said people are now on roads to lodge protest against the decision and now they are getting their own money from ATMs and even banks. People are being harassed and forced to stand in long ques. When he contacted Manager of the bank branch he told the MLA that the bank was not receiving sufficient cash. Nagra said prior arrangements were not made before implementing the decision of scrapping old currency notes.
