Ludhiana: In a series of protests against the private schools over fee hike issue, protests were held outside DAV Public School Police Lines, Harkrishan Public School, Nankana Sahib Public School and Public School Kidwai Nagar on Friday.
The agitating parents said that despite the orders of Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner to the private schools for reducing the development charges, admission fee and settlement of books issue, the schools have not followed the orders.Thus, the parents of students continued protests outside various schools if the city. While protesting against the private schools, the parents alleged that schools were charging huge amount in the name of development funds, re- admission fee and hiked tuition fees.
Moreover, the books were also available on particular shops referred by the schools. While demanding strict action against school management the parents demanded the government to intervene and form the Regulatory Commission for private schools. Notably after the meeting with parents associations and School managements, Deputy Commissioner had issued ordered that the hike in development fund will not be charged by the schools and will be returned if already taken.
