Ludhiana :After around two years, the flight from Ludhiana to Delhi took off from Sahnewal Airport on Thursday. The air connectivity was provided by private company, Jetsmart.
The aircraft has eight seats including seven business class costing Rs.13,000 each and one economy class costing Rs.10,000.
Initially, Jetsmart had announced that flight will have two trips a day from Ludhiana to Delhi and vice versa.
On the first day, the flight took off from Sahnewal Airport for Delhi at 9 am with eight passengers and landed at Sahnewal Airport around 6.15 pm with seven passengers.
Earlier, Air India was running one ATR aircraft from Ludhiana-Delhi since 2010 but got discontinued in May 2014.
Business Development Head, Jetsmart, Angad Dhaliwal said that the residents were provided with luxury air trip. “We are running single trip till September 8 as demand is not overwhelming initially”, he added.
Meanwhile, the city residents and industrialists have demanded to reduce the air fares as they found Shatabdi a better as well as reasonable option to travel to Delhi.
