Ludhiana: On the completion of 50 years of Punjabi Suba, the inaugural function of various state-level functions in this regard would be held in Ludhiana on October 3 and the closing function would be held at Amritsar on October 31. While taking stock of the arrangements regarding these functions, Education Minister, Punjab, Dr Daljit Singh Cheema presided over a meeting at Guru Nanak Stadium.
While providing information after the meeting, Dr Cheema said that on the completion of 50 years of Punjabi Suba, the Punjab government is organising a series of state-level functions. He informed that on October 3, the inaugural function would be held at Guru Nanak Stadium. The Chief Guest of this function would be Chief Minister, Punjab Parkash Singh Badal and guest of honour would be Deputy CM, Sukhbir Singh Badal.
He added in the inaugural function, 1450 students from different parts of the state would perform and more than 30,000 people from various fields would attend the function.
Dr Cheema said regarding these functions, various competitions are being organised in different parts of the state, which would continue throughout the month. Prominent among those who attended the meeting included ADC (General) Dr Rishipal Singh, DPI (Secondary) Balbir Singh Dhol, DPI (Elementary) Pankaj Sharma, Additional Commissioner MC Amrit Kaur Gill, District Transport Officer Dalwinderjit Singh, ADCP Sukhpal Singh Brar, Civil Surgeon Dr Renu Chhatwal, DEO (Secondary) Paramjit Kaur Chahal, DEO (Elementary) Gurjot Singh, besides several others.
