Garhshankar: The Garhshankar Police have registered a case of criminal trespass and theft against former BSP MLA Shingara Ram Sahungra, who forcibly tried to re-enter the government accommodation from where he was evicted in the month of June.
Sahungra, who was putting up in a tent just outside the government accommodation has tried to re-enter the government accommodation. The police have registered a case against Sahungra under section 447, 448, 511 and 379 of the IPC.
The district administration was planning to renovate the government residence, when he tried to enter it.
The irrigation department officials approached the district administration and a complaint was lodged with the police. The irrigation officials also demanded the administration to begin the process of recovering an outstanding rent worth Rs 30.69 lakh from Sahungra.
Notably, Sahungra was allotted the type-4 house in the year 1992, when he won as a BSP MLA for the first time. Sahungra continued to stay in the government accommodation, even after his term as an MLA was over. While the irrigation department sent repeated eviction reminders, Sahungra did not budge from his stand.
