Ludhiana: Guru Nanak Institute of Management and Technology (GNIMT), Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, Ludhiana organised VII convocation on November 19. Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu Dean Academics, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University was the chief guest and delivered the convocation addressal.
The chief guest was received by the Director and was introduced to all the members of the faculty. The academic procession started at 11.30 am and the convocation procedure started after the recital of Shabad “Deh Shiva Var Mohe Ihe.” by the students. Dr (Col.) H.S. Singha, Director of the Institute extended a formal welcome to the chief guest and introduced him to the audience.
The institute report was presented by the Director in which he highlighted various aspects like admissions, academic achievements, professional activities and faculty development activities.
He highlighted the academic achievements mentioning that GNIMT has won 15 Gold Medals, 14 Silver Medals and 18 Bronze Medals.
The in-house faculty development programme, interaction with schools and soft skill development programmes for the students were also highlighted.
The chief guest addressed the students and he exhorted the teachers to provide value based education. He emphasised that the education is a learning process and it is the education which can open gateway to opportunities. He congratulated the faculty for value based education being imparted to the students.
While congratulating the students on the successful completion of their courses, he remarked that getting a degree was not the end of goals, but the beginning of learning. Er. Gurvinder Singh, General Secretary of the Guru Nanak Education Trust (Gujarkhan) presented a vote of thanks.
He assured the chief guest and the audience that the Institute will continue to progress as per the advice given by them.
He exhorted the students to continue learning more and more about their specialities. The event culminated by reciting the National Anthem.
