Amritsar: A meeting of Shiv Sena workers was held here under the chairmanship of its head of north India unit, Jaigopal Lali. In the meeting state president, Sachin Behl and other were also present.
Lali asked the state government that it had promised to release a package of Rs 781 crore for terrorists’ affected Hindu families of the state. However, not even a single penny has come to any family so far. Lali stated that although SAD government in Punjab had been consistently demanding to punish those guilty for 1984 riots, but it has never spoken even a word regarding providing the promised compensation to the families of 35,000 slain innocent Hindus of the state, who lost their lives during terrorism in Punjab.
He said that the only fault of those victims was that they used to live on the assurance of the government as well as police of the state. Lali regretted that on one hand, Punjab government had spent more than Rs 500 crore on erecting memorials of slain soldiers, which were of no use to anyone.
He added that what is the benefit of spending lavishly upon such memorials when the government can not ensure even bread and butter to the bereaved family members of slain Hindus. Lali quipped that government does only shed crocodile tears when they attend bhog ceremonies of killed Hindus and make fake promises which are seldom fulfilled by them.
