Amritsar: Amritsar, a holy city, who has made it to the third list of the smart city project is all set to transform and develop its infrastructure. Soon after the announcement was made, a press conference was held at Amritsar. “We are very happy with this development” Amritsar mayor Bakshi Ram Arora said.
Arora during the press conference also addressed that the entire city(Amritsar) will be transformed and developed . The existing projects will get a boost and all modern facilities will be provided to city residents.”
Also, traffic flow will be streamlined, CCTV cameras will be installed, global positioning system will be employed for tracking garbage collection vehicles. The mayor also promised round-the-clock electricity and water supply under the project.
A total of `1,000 crore will be released in a period of four years for transforming and modernizing the project.
India plans to have 100 smart cities by 2022.
