Ludhiana:The health authorities have geared up to tackle swine flu, with the dip in the mercury so that people would not suffer from any problem. Though, cases of dengue are on the decline, but department has planning to start the precaution from Monday onwards.
Though, isolation ward has been asked to keep ready properly in cases if any swine flu patients come. When contacted, civil surgeon Rajeev Bhalla said, “We have started tests of ground level employees who will go to check the cases. However, proper meetings with the employees of department would be held soon so that proper measures would be taken”.
Bhalla further claimed that department is also going to organise awareness campaign in different city areas so that people would get aware regarding this problem.
In 2012, a total of 14 cases of swine flu were reported from the state from which four died. In the meeting, which will be held for the regarding surveillance, diagnosis and lab confirmation as well as management of H2NC patients, which are more likely to be reported in the winter months with the ARDS patients, a meeting under chairmanship of Dr. Rajeev Bhalla Civil Surgeon Ludhiana.
The Medical Superintendent cum Nodal Officer from DMC, CMC, SPS Apollo, Oswal Hospital, Deepak Hospital, Deep Hospital, USPC Jain Charitable, BL Kapoor Hospital, GTB Hospital, ESI Hospital, Civil Hospital Ludhiana will be called to be present in meeting.
The symptoms include acute respiratory disease syndrome, high fever, cold, body ache, running nose and diarrhoea.

Keep a distance of at least 3 meters from infected person
Contact a doctor if you have symptoms of swine flu
Take medicine only after consulting a doctor
