Patiala: In an attempt to follow on footsteps of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi , Patiala Improvement Trust has decided to launch “Healthy Patiala Movement” with a vision to improve the health of people living in royal city. Under the movement trust has decided to set up open Gym’s in all the big parks of the city.
While revealing the project Chairman of Patiala Improvement Trust, Vishnu Sharma told this correspondent here that the project has been discussed with the Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Parminder Singh Gill. He said that trust has also assured Municipal Corporation authorities that it is also interested in lending support to MC for taking over some of Municipal Parks in city for maintenance and development as well.
Giving the details of Improvement Trust’s decision to open Gym’s under “Healthy Patiala Movement” , Sharma said that it was noticed that in today’s fast paced life nobody has spare time to improve his or her health. Moreover, it is not possible for everyone to go to expensive gyms.
Sharma said that keeping in view financial factor, trust has decided to help out the people of the city by opening Gym’s in parks so that the people can stay fit and healthy.
When asked where the Improvement Trust decides to open these Gym’s in city, Sharma added that trust’s first choice is lush green Baradari Gardens, as a large number of Patialvis’ enjoy their morning and evening walks.
Trust has also decided to establish Gym’s at Arna Barna Park, Anardana Chowk Park, Phulian Enclave’s Dashmesh park, Tafazalpura park and a park near Railway Phatak Number 23 in Model Town area as well.
Trust Chairman said that besides the trust has also adopted another biggest park of the city that is Rose Garden situated near main bus stand of the city. He said that the trust has also decided to spend Rs 60 lakh on overall development of this park besides setting up of Gym. Sharma said that the main aim of “Healthy Patiala Movement” is to make all Patialvis fit for free.
