Ludhiana: A man was attacked allegedly by his in-laws in the court complex parking on Friday. The victim accused his in-laws for murder attempt and lodged police complaint at Police Division No.5. During the attack the victim suffer minor injuries and his car was also damaged. Following the complaint, the medical examination of victim was conducted at civil hospital and police have initiated investigation in the case.
The complainant Gaurav Malhotra alleged that he had gone to lawyers’ chambers for some work and when he returned back his father-in-law Geeta Bector and mother-in-law Tejinder Bector were standing near his car. When he turned there the accused couple started abusing him and tried to hit him.
Malhotra claimed that when he tried to escape to avoid scuffle the accused threw stones on his car and broke down windowpane. The accused again hit him with stones but somehow he managed to escape, he said. Following the incident, a police complaint was lodged at Police Post Kochar Market falling within jurisdiction of Police Division No.5.
The victim alleged that his wife and in-laws were harassing him after the marriage. The accused had earlier lodged several complaints at different police stations but the complaints were filed in his favour claimed the victim. He demanded to register a case against the accused couple.
Investigation Officer at Police Division No.5 said that they would take action according to the medical report and statement of the complainant. The investigation in the case was on, added IO.
