Ludhiana: A city resident Rajdeep Singh Benipal has filed a representation with the Punjab Human Rights Commission demanding justice for the family of Inderpal Singh Ahuja, who recently ended his life after posting his suicide note on Facebook.
In his representation, Rajdeep Singh Benipal told the Commission that on April 29, 2016, Inderpal Singh Ahuja, a resident of Dugri committed suicide. Before taking the extreme step, the victim posted his suicide note on Facebook blaming Inspector Davinder Chaudhary, ASI Buta Singh and Head Constable Swaran Singh for harassment and extortion. Benipal said though the Government Railway Police (GRP) have registered a case taking suicide note as dying declaration but no arrests have been made so far.
The Ludhiana Police Commissioner has also ordered a probe into the incident but the inquiry is going on at a slow pace. The mobile phone from which the suicide note was posted also went missing which indicates that police are favouring guilty cops. Rajdeep Singh Benipal demanded the commission to intervene and assure justice to the family of the victim and the guilty cops are punished.
