Ludhiana: Kuldip Singh, one of the pioneers Laparoscopic Surgeons of the country who belongs to Ludhiana and Chief Trustee of the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons (IAGES), has been nominated from India as one of the director in IFSES (International Federation of Societies of Endoscopic Surgeons). Other societies in IFSES are European, Japanese, Chinese, SAGES, Canadian and ELSA. IFSES holds world congress and International meetings on Endoscopic Surgery throughout the world. He has been the secretary General of Asia Pacific Endoscopic society and President of Indian society of Laparoscopic society.
Having been trained in PGIMER Chandigarh and later got his laparoscopic certification from Middlesex Hospital, London and National University Hospital Singapore in 1992 he rose from this level to the highest position in the field of Laparoscopic Surgery having held all positions in national and international levels. He will be attending the IFSES meeting to be held in Amsterdam on 16th June 2016 during European Association of Endoscopic Surgery meeting. He has been invited to present his pioneer work on the safe technique of Laparoscopic Gall Bladder Surgery to demonstrate `Critical View of Safety’ in American College of Surgeons. He has been regarded as an expert in dealing with difficult gall bladders surgeries laparoscopic ally with the best results. He has also served as Professor and Head of Surgery Department at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), Ludhiana.
Expressing happiness over nomination he was humble to say that it is all because of God’s blessings and learning from his patients and teachers, with the support of his family that he could make it to this level and interact with the top surgeons of the World during all these years. DP
