LUDHIANA: The recent escalation in tension between Indian and Pakistan and continuous attacks from both sides on each others’ posts along border has also resulted in significant increase in production of technical equipment to be provided to the soldiers.
Defence experts claimed that the production has risen to nearly 20 to 25 percent in on 41 ordnance cable factories across the country. Production of cables used in blasting of IED (improvise explosive device), communication, battle tanks among others has witnessed a major demand during the recent times when relations between Pakistan and India strained to a different level.
Mega Engineering Expo “International Engineering Technology and sourcing show “IETSS-2016” was held here on Friday at GLADA ground where experts from Ordance Cable Factory, Government of India, Ministry of Defence were there to find a vendor for providing good quality of cable products and other major products used in tanks and other things.
While talking to Daily Post, Inderpal Singh, Junior Work Manager from Ordance Cable Factory, Government of India said, “We are here with the search of vendors who can provide us the quality parts from the manufacturers. Yes the production has been increased in recent different level relationship between India and Pakistan”.
However, Singh further claimed that there are different types of cables including communication cables which are used in high altitude areas including Ladakh region and Jammu and Kashmir, Radio frequency cable, blasting cables and harness cable which are used in tanks as these cables are very thick to sustain the heat inside the tank.
These cables are used in tanks mainly T-72, T-92, BMP-II, BMP II K, trawl among others.
Mega Engineering Expo “International Engineering Technology and Sourcing Show “IETSS-2016” which is being held from November 25-28, 2016. Inauguration of National Vendor Development Programme was held. He appreciated the initiative and all out efforts of CICU for organising International Engineering Technology and sourcing show (IETSS) continuously for the last 4 years. He also visited the various stalls exhibited in the Expo.
