Bathinda: A PCS officer Vijay Kumar Syal, who was booked by Vigilance Bureau officials for alleged discrepancies in the record of DTO office in April this year, has now applied for the pre-mature retirement, claiming that he was unable to bear severe political interference in his job.
Syal is now posted as Executive Magistrate with also holding additional charge of Assistant Commissioner (GA) and AC (Grievances) in Faridkot. While seeking his premature retirement, Syal has claimed that he was assigned with an inquiry into the use of substandard tiles in the area of Municipal Council, Kotkapura, on the direction of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.
“I sought some record from the municipality but neither any of the officials concerned turned up nor did I get the record,” he stated in his letter to Chief Secretary Punjab.DP
