Patiala: NTAS celebrated its International Peace Day at Patiala on Friday. During the show, “Rural Punjab Theatre Campaign” was presented by National Theatre Arts Society (NTAS) in co-operation with Sangrur Administration and Department of Information and Public Relations Punjab. The three day event concluded last evening on Friday.
The campaign convener Pran Sabharwal, Village Khurani Sarpanch Baljit Singh and NTAS artists including Pran Sabharwal, choreographer Jagdish Kumar, Sweety Rajput, Jaspreet Singh, Jotinder Singh, Harmandeep Singh, Dalwinder Singh, Kapil and Anjul, dedicated the performance to the International Peace day.
On this occasion, NTAS honoured Khurani Sarpanch-Baljit Singh and Panchayat members by presenting them NTAS’ International Peace Award of Honour Memento and literary gifts.
Campaign Convener- Pran Sabharwal addressed during NTAS’ Rural Punjab Theatre Campaign, social themed and informative plays staged about Punjab Government’s Welfare Schemes – achievements including “Eh Mera Punjab Belio” anti domestic violence “Sukki Kukh”, anti drugs “Saian Kite Wadhaian Kite, anti-foeticide “So Kiyon Manda Akhiey” won much applause of the villagers.
During the event, 9 Sarpanches of various districts of Sangrur were honoured, namely Chamkaur Singh (Haqeqatpura), Karmajit Singh (Kular Khurd) Ranjit Kaur (Kheri), Darshan Singh (Upli), Harmail Singh (Chathe Sekhwan), Kashmir Singh (Sohian), Boota Singh (Khurana), Karamjit Singh (Kammon Majra Kalan), Baljit Singh (Khurani).
Sabharwal expressed gratitude to D.C. Patiala Ramvir IAS, D.C, Arshdeep Singh Thind IAS, Dr. Senu Duggal- director Information Public Relations, DPRO Sangrur Amandeep Singh and Sarpanches for their help, guidance and active cooperation and making the events successful.
