An employee of city based jeweler has been nabbed by police with unaccounted cash of Rs 45 lakh at check point outside Khalsa College for woman on Saturday afternoon.
The Police has stopped the scooter for checking and found cash from two bags.
Ludhiana: According to information Assistant Sub inspector (ASI) of traffic Police Ashwani Kumari has installed checkpoint outside college.
He stopped a man coming on scooter for not wearing helmet.
While checking the employee of jeweler Tripati jeweller, Yogesh Kumar was scared and started making excuses. Suspecting something fishy the police have checked the Activa Scooter and bags of Yogesh and found Rs forty five Lakh unaccounted cash.
The cops on traffic checkpoint said that yogesh tried to give bribe to them to freed him but the cops handed over him to senior police officials with cash.On being asked Yogesh told that the cash belongs to his employer and he is going to deposit it in the bank. He also produced a deposit slip of bank on which only Rs 45,000 was mentioned.
The employee was handed over to division number 8 police and also intimated income tax department.
