Ludhiana: City-based businessman, Kamal Chopra has been elected as the president of the All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP).
The elections were held during the annual general body meeting of AIFMP at Bengaluru recently.
Representing more than 250,000 printers, AIFMP is the world’s largest association of printers. AIFMP draws its strength from more than 70 affiliates spread around the country. It is the only apex body of the printers, recognized by the government of India.
It is for the first time that a printer from Ludhiana has become the president of the organisation. At present, Chopra is the general secretary of Offset Printers Association (OPA). He has the experience of serving the printing industry since last 46 years.
Chopra said, “AIFMP will see more importance given to the micro- and small printers, more than the medium and large sector printers. My mission is to take AIFMP at par with the best at international level, and government recognition for printing and packaging industry. There is no department or ministry for printing in India and I would like to work for the proper identification of this industry in government, private and social circles.”
