Ludhiana: Cabinet Minister, Punjab, Bikram Singh Majithia assured the protesting students of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana that their demands would be taken before the state government.
The students are protesting against the state government for not filling the vacant posts in agriculture department.
The students are protesting from last 12 days demanding jobs in the government departments.
The protesting students submitted a memorandum to Majithia.
The minister had landed in the university campus on Saturday and the protesting students submitted their memorandum to him
“We were assured by the minister that he will take up the matter with the Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal”, said the protesting students on being contact.
It may be mentioned here that the police had tried to remove the tent installed infront of Gate No. 2. “We were told by the police to move away from the spot but we refused and police made an alternative arrangement from gate number 4 for route of Majithia”, said the protesting students.
Majithia had arrived in the city to attend a bhog ceremony.
