Ludhiana: Due to the festival of Maha Shivratri the trains at the Ludhiana Railway Station was flooded with passengers as people went to various destinations due to the long weekend. The passengers were seen standing in the trains as due to heavy rush they did not get the seats. Railway Protection Force had to use the force to control the passengers in various trains on the Maha Shivratri.
Moreover, the Ludhiana Railway Reservation officials said that its not only Shatabdi Express which is running packed to capacity but number of other trains also, which mainly includes Superfast, Puja Express, Malwa Express, Daddar Express, Janta Rath, 3LF, Sealdah Express and all other trains towards Bihar. The Station Superintendent, Ashok Salaria said that on Shivratri every year, trains remain flooded with the passengers at the Ludhiana Railway Station.
Moreover, soon the final examinations of classes would be over and many other families have programme in holidays before new session starts, official added. The commuters who went for advance booking well on time now have an easy access to board a train.
