Ludhiana: The Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana has floated tenders of development works for third priority under Punjab Infrastructure Development Board (PIDB). Total cost of these tenders is Rs.16.70 crores and total 35 development works have been included in the list.
The civic officials had divided third priority works in two categories. In first part they put works costing more than Rs.50 lakhs and there were 38 such development works with total cost of Rs.30.46 crores The officials had floated tenders for those works earlier. In the second part they had kept works below Rs.50 lakhs and these were 35 works with total cost of Rs.16.70 crores. Total works in third priority are worth Rs.51.21 crores. In third phase the development works like fixing of interlocking tiles, laying RMC, construction of RCC roads etc would take place.
The MCL Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that they have floated tenders for third priority works as well so that development works could be started at the site. He assured that officials have been directed to ensure all the quality checks so as to avoid any issue. He claimed that they would also provide the road infrastructure on main roads and for that too they have floated tenders.
Meanwhile, the MC has also floated e-tenders for providing and fixing of road infrastructure at various roads at the total cost of Rs.2.46 crores. The tenders have been floated for providing thermoplastic lines and cat eyes of various roads under zone C at the cost of Rs.81.91lakhs, road furniture and road marking lines from Durga Mata Mandir to Aarti Chowk at the cost of Rs.49.95 lakhs, repair and the renovation of central verge and footpath from Aarti Chowk to Durga Mata Mandir at the cost of Rs.49.68 lakhs and providing and fixing of road furniture on main roads of zone A, C and D at cost of Rs.65.11 lakhs. The tenders will be opened on September 27 and contractors can participate in procedure by September 26.
