Ludhiana: A team of health branch of Municipal Corporation Ludhiana (MCL) conducted a raid at the Reliance Fresh and Easy day stores and meat shops on Thursday. They seized and destroyed the unhygienic vegetables, fruits and meat from there.
The teams were formed followed by the MC Commissioner, Ghanshyam Thori who had received a complaint regarding unhygienic vegetables and fruits at Reliance Fresh store in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar. The officials, including MOH Vipul Malhotra, Dr YP Singh and other officials of the respective zones conducted this raid.
First of all raid was conducted at Reliance store in SBS Nagar from where the officials got the vegetables and fruits destroyed. After this, they visited the Easy Day store on Dugri Road and there also they destroyed unhygienic vegetables and fruits.
The officials then moved towards the meat shops where unhygienic meat was being sold to public. They raided 6 shops out of which 4 shops were on Dugri Road while 2 were opposite ATI College. They also visited three more shops on Gill Road but shopkeepers had closed their shops after getting clue about this raid so officials could not destroy anything from these shops.
The MCL Commissioner, Ghanshyam Thori said that he had received a complaint regarding selling of unhygienic goods being sold at Reliance store so team was made and they raided at meat shops as well. He said that they would not allow selling of unhygienic items to public as it could leave bad affects on their health.
