Ludhiana: Municipal Corporation, Ludhiana (MCL) organised a graffiti event at Lakkar Bridge on Sunday for involving public in city beautification drive through graffiti. The students of school for Deaf and Dumb also participated in the event and made graffiti.
Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria and Additional Municipal Commissioner Surabhi Malik were present there. They held the painting brushes in their hands along with children and made graffiti.
Kasturi Kal Jain, chairman of company welcomed the Mayor. In the event the directors of company Sunil Jain, Akhil Jain, Vibhav Jain and Ashish Jain were also present. Apart from this, artists Shakti, Shivam, Suraj and Sukhjeet also participated.
Gohalwaria said that people should come forward for the beautification of the city through graffiti only then their efforts would start bearing the fruit.
Meanwhile, the MCL Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that more graffiti sites would be allotted to the interested firms but without public support they cannot fulfill their aim to get city declared graffiti capital. He further told that under smart city mission also they will propose 5 lakh square feet area to be covered under graffiti project.
