Ludhiana: The Municipal Corporation Ludhiana has received three new fire tenders on Thursday by the state government.
It would be a relief for the fire brigade department as due to Diwali number of fire incidents increase and there is shortage of fire tenders with fire brigade department. More fire tenders will be added to the fleet shortly.
It is pertinent to mention here that under disaster management scheme state government had received Rs 45 crores grant from center government and they have placed order of 100 fire tenders in Hyderabad.
The government had received 25 fire tenders in first lot out of which 3 fire tenders have been allotted to MCL.
The additional divisional fire officer Bhupinder Singh told that they are having 13 fire tenders which are not sufficient for the city so it would be a relief for them.
Meanwhile the MCL Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that upgradation of the fire brigade department was pending from a long time and with the allotment of these fire tenders the upgradation has started.
