Ludhiana: As the rainy season is almost over now the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana (MCL) has started much needed patch work in various parts of the city on Tuesday. They have started patch work in all four zones of the city and first of all main roads will be covered followed by which the internal roads will also be taken up.
The patch work has been started at Mall Road, Chandigarh Road, Ferozepur Road, Hambran Road, road from Military Camp to Sherpur Chowk, Karol Bagh main road and Balmiki Mohalla Sardar Nagar. The officials are planning to start patch work at the down ramp of the Partap Chowk flyover and they would begin other roads very shortly.
MCL Commissioner, Ghanshyam Thori said that top priority is major roads so they have started patch work and the roads which are under maintenance period will be repaired by contractors as per maintenance clause. Thori told that for all major roads berms, grills and side walls of flyovers will be painted in next one month, defective cat eyes will be replaced and thermo plastic lines will be done again. The work on repair of Dholewal bridge and flower pots of bus stand flyover already in progress, he added.
Notably, people had been demanding the patch work of roads from a long time and it would be a great relief for them that MCL has started doing it. People would get rid of bumpy rides after patch work.
