Mohali: Balbir Sidhu, the Congress candidate from Mohali has reiterated its resolve to turn Mohali into a model city besides making it an industries hub. He said here on Friday that after forming government in Punjab, it will be my responsibility to make Mohali front runner in all fields.
“Congress is committed to take Punjab out of a vicious circle of indebtedness and bring it on a virtuous circle of economics development and prosperity,” said Congress candidate.
Balbir Sidhu said further that implementing need-based policy will top my agenda for Mohali. The proposed policy will benefit around 20,000 residents of Mohali who are putting up in small houses. These residents are demanding implementation of need-based policy so that they can expand their houses under policy. The property tax will also be abolished in Mohali, he added.
Sidhu said that he will work to make Mohali as an industry hub of the state while attracting new big corporate here. He also ensured timely completion of all pending projects in the city besides working towards rationalising of arcane laws of the PSIEC and sales tax barrier which is the concern of the industrialists.
Talking about “Captain De Naun Nukte” (Captain’s nine points) for Punjab, Sidhu said that the Congress government will end drug problem in state in four-week. A member from each family will get job. Rs 2,500 monthly allowances will be given till the member get the job.
The farmers loans will be written off besides ensuring full payment for farmers’ produce. Food will be made available at Rs 5, concrete houses for 5-lakh will be constructed for poor people, 33 per cent reservation for women will be ensured. Besides, tariff rate of Rs 5 per unit power for trade and industrial sectors will also be ensured, asserted Sidhu.
