Ludhiana: Monsoon is the time period for which everyone is eagerly waiting for but after its showers the chances of dengue increase. So as to stay protected from dengue one needs to follow the rules. Monsoon has an old bond with a number of diseases and dengue is one of them.
The season’s climate, with temperatures ranging between 28-30 degrees Celsius with high humidity, becomes the reason of breeding of several types of mosquitoes that cause diseases. Dengue is the most common viral disease in rainy days as it is a viral infection spread by the bite of the aedes aegypti mosquito. It is not communicable as it does not spread directly from person to person. It’s high time for the people to look after their surroundings and also inside their houses so that they may get infected with dengue.
TIPS FOR PREVENTION
Wear clothes that cover your arms and legs.
Regularly clean the places in the house which remain damp –like the basin, kitchen drains and the place where utensils are washed.

Aedes aegypti, the mosquito that spreads dengue infection, breeds in fresh water that collects in vases, birdbaths, old tyres, containers, potholes.
