Ludhiana: The city police have arrested three more persons allegedly involved in the murder case of Balwinder Kaur who was an accused in the sacrilege case of Holy Guru Granth Sahib. The police have added sections of conspiracy and unlawful activities in the case. The two accused Gurpreet Singh of Sangrur and Nihal Singh of Patiala had already been arrested by the police.
All the accused were produced in the court under high security cover. The Court of Judicial Magistrate Lovejinder Kaur extended the police remand of the accused till August 7. The three accused arrested on Tuesday evening were identified as Jagjeet Singh, Gurwinder Singh of Barnala and Harbans Singh of Nabha. The police claimed that the accused were also involved in the killing and unlawful activities.
Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur, Counsel of Gurpreet and Nihal Singh alleged harassment of the arrested persons in the police custody and moved an application for the medical examination of arrested persons. The Court has given directions to Investigation Officer in the case. The Court has also admitted the application of Counsel for meeting the arrested persons daily.
