Jalandhar: The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) has appealed to all the political parties contesting the Punjab assembly election to list issues related to NRI’s in their election manifesto before seeking support in the ensuing Punjab Assembly Elections.
In a press release, Satnam Singh Chahal Executive Director of NAPA said that NAPA has been playing an important role in the welfare of Punjabis living abroad and helped Punjabi immigrants lodged in jails to come out on bail. “There were many demands of NRI’s which were pending since long. We expect that all the political parties in Punjab should list the NRI issues in their election manifesto and the new government formed to resolve our demands”, he said.
Chahal said that NRIs would support only that political party which would promise to fulfill all the demands of NRIs in its election manifesto. The NAPA Executive Director also demanded to pass a bill on the NRI’s issues in the state assembly.
