Jalandhar: The way Hindi language is becoming lingua franca in market and transforming the thought process, it can aptly be termedas its golden age. It is becoming a collective language adopting words from several other languages. It is already the fourth most spoken language in the world and taught in more than 172 countries of the world. On the occasion of Hindi Day Prof K K Rattu, Head Journalism and Mass Communication Department, DAV University, Jalandhar, shared the thoughts.
He is known for his pioneer thesis on the role of Hindi as the functional language of television in India. He believes that communication revolution particularly through social media tools like Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube has changed the face of Hindi language and has helped it in penetrating the remotest corners of the country.
