Ludhiana:NSS Unit & Youth Red Cross Society of Guru Nanak Girls College, Model Town, Ludhiana, organised a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp. The camp was organised in collaboration with Shri Krishna Charitable Hospital, Ludhiana.
G.L. Pahwa, President and Khushbakat Rai Auplish, Vice President of Shri Krishna Charitable Hospital were the Chief Guests of the event. Principal Dr. Charanjit Mahal accorded a warm welcome to the Chief Guests of the occasion and acknowledged the exemplary efforts of one and all involved in this noble cause. She enthused the students to become a part of this altruistic mission that would save the lives of millions.
Dr. Tejmeet Singh (Medical Superintendent / Child Specialist & Neonatologist) said that the major concern these days is to arrange adequate leuco reduced blood for thalassemic children.
Dr. Reena Garg (Pathologist) echoed the same thought and instilled vigour and enthusiasm amongst the students to donate blood which is the most precious and supreme charity.
Gurbir Singh, President, Guru Nanak Education Trust said, blood donation is the supreme benefaction and he also appreciated the spirit of service among the students. More than 180 students & staff members donated blood.
Dr. S.S. Mahal, Member Guru Nanak Education Trust along with other dignitaries Harish Singla, Secretary, Pramod Sharma, General Secretary, Anil Sachdeva, Prachar Secretary and Shiv Nath Sharma, Senior Convener, Shri Krishna Sanatan Dharam Sabha, Model Town, Ludhiana also graced the occasion.
