Ludhiana: A suspected dengue death was reported from the district. The deceased has been identified as Arshdeep (17) who died after having fever for around six days.
Arshdeep was the only child of his parents.
Meanwhile, the health department said that it is not sure that whether or not the death was due to dengue. They have asked for samples.
The District Epidemiologist, Dr. Ramesh said that they have now asked Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where the boy died to send blood sample so that it could be checked and reviewed.
Arshdeep was admitted to DMCH on Tuesday and he died on Wednesday. He was admitted in another private hospital earlier to DMCH.
Earlier also, three suspected dengue deaths have been reported in the district but the health department claimed that there has been no dengue death in the district.
Dr. Ramesh further said that on Friday, seven new dengue cases have been reported positive and six new Chikungunya cases were also reported positive in the Ludhiana district. He added people should take proper precautions and should not come in the hearsays. “There is nothing like epidemic and no death has been reported of people reported positive of dengue and Chikungunya”, he added.
