Ludhiana: Panic grips CRPF Colony in the Dugri area as two groups entered in a deadly clash and allegedly opened fire in air following a petty issue of road rage on Wednesday morning. As many as four persons suffered injuries during the clash.
Sensing the situation, heavy police force was deployed in the area but the members of both the groups fled before the police arrived. The injured were rushed to Civil Hospital from where they were discharged after providing first aid.
According to information, Monu Disawar and Simran Singh, both residents of Dugri entered in scuffle after their cars collided in the area. Later, they both called their accomplices on the spot. In the clash, Monu Disawar and his accomplices Lally Sharma and Satish suffered injuries.
Sources said that both the persons were associated with groups of persons involved in several criminal cases. Monu Disawar is brother of Vikas Talwar and Amrish Talwar, who were involved in murder case but later acquitted by the court.
Simran is brother of Vikram Tiger, allegedly and aide of famous Gangster Goru Bacha.
According to the police, Amrish Talwar, Monu fixed the time with Vikram Tiger in a park in Dugri area where two dozen persons of both the groups reached there in sport utility vehicles (SUV). The situation turned ugly when both the groups allegedly indulged into attack against each other and opened fire in the air.
After getting the information, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP-2) Sandeep Garg, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP, Gill) Surinder Mohan, several SHOs along with heavy force reached at the spot and initiated investigation.
ADCP Sandeep Garg said the police have initiated investigation and will take appropriate action after recording statements of the victims.
