Ludhiana: Guru Nanak Public School Ludhiana (GNPS) stepped back from its commitment and violates the decision of the Fee Regulatory Committee on March 9, when the parents went to school to get results of their wards, the school refused to provide results of the exams to the students of Nursery Class, LKG and UKG classes and asked them to deposit the tuition fee without the enhanced tuition fee. However, when the parents went to the bankers of the school for depositing tuition fees, the banker refused to accept and said that they will accept only if the complete tuition fees including the Smart Class Charges, Annual Charges and Computer Charges are deposited.
This is in clear violation of orders of Fee Committee and Right to Education. The Fee Committee has granted a stay on payment of Annual Charges, Smart Classes and Computer Charges, however, only Tuition Fee is to be deposited. It is important to mention that the banker of the school is not accepting only the tuition fees, rather is asking complete fees, under the instructions from School. On the other hand, the school is harassing students and parents for non deposit of fees.
On February 17, Fee Regulatory Committee directed that status quo to be continued till the case is finalized. Last hearing in the matter was on March 6, wherein, the school’s advocate Sarwan Sehgal, promised orally that school will not withhold results of any student, irrespective of deposit of fees. Despite the said assurance, the school has denied to give the result of Nursery Class, LKG and UKG classes until they clear their all dues.
